HOME MADE MAGIC DRINK FOR COUGH

My family always uses homemade remedies when the doctor's approach is not effective or the sick one is feeling too hopeless. I remember my Grandma could make effective potions for us with just a few ingredients from our little kitchen.

We had a little backyard garden where my mum and grandma used to grow a lot of little herbs like Tulsi, turmeric, Bay leaves, coriander, bitter melons, fennel, and many more (cannot remember all) 😍

We all have family members who prefer natural remedies. These days it's me in my family.

Since I was born with some lungs problems, I am too prone to viruses.

Last year was the worst year for me. My cough started in early January 2021 and I felt better after April. No medication worked and nearly 12 covid tests were done in those 4 months 😒

This year, I started taking below homemade my magic drink and I am not that bad. I do cough but mostly when I go out or at bedtime.

Here is  5 minutes recipe for my cough monster.

  • 1 1/2 cups organic raw honey
  • 1/2 cup organic extra virgin olive oil
  • 2-5 lemons juiced (the more the better)

I do add Himalayan salt and crushed black peppers when my chest feels too congested.

  • Add honey, olive oil, and lemon juice to a pot and mix together.
  • Heat it on the stovetop for 2-3 minutes.
  • Remove from heat and let cool.
  • Place into a jar with a lid.
  • Store in the refrigerator.
  • Take it whenever you feel like you need it ( I take about 5-6 times a day)

I do drink it as tea in the daytime. Just add a couple of spoons to your hot water cup or bottle and keep sipping through. For more flavor, cut a little piece of ginger and add it to your drink.

This homemade cough syrup recipe is GREAT for kids over the age of 12 months. I have started giving half a tablespoon of syrup to my daughters before bed to soothe their sore throats and coughing.

One last thing I want to mention is what I do for myself when my whacky cough is about to go out of control. I add a couple of drops of eucalyptus oil to the wet hand towel and put it on my chest which instantly calms me down. I cannot say much for others but it does work for me.

At last, I wish you good health.

Yours,
